A big thank-you to coffee lover and guest contributor this month Hannah from Honey & Betts for partnering with us and sharing her favourite top spots for a high quality caffeine jolt!
Coffee is essential for people - it doesn't matter if you work full-time, or are a stay-at-home mom, or are somewhere in between - coffee fuels us, and good coffee excites us! And if you're looking for some amazing Edmonton coffee shops in your neighbourhood, good coffee is not that far away!
These 5 Edmonton coffee shops hold a special place in my heart because not only are you drinking a delicious cup of coffee, you're also supporting small businesses where your impact matters greatly.
My list of the top 5 Edmonton coffee shops you must try:
-
Mandolin Books & Coffee Company - Nestled in the heart of the historic Highlands neighbourhood you will find this treasure of a cafe. A cafe and a gently used book store all in one! If you're book obsessed or looking for a quiet, cozy corner to sip your coffee in, you must come to Mandolin Books & Coffee Company. And be sure to visit their gorgeous back patio in the summer, there's something magical about it! My favourite coffee is their Dark Chocolate Mocha.
-
Little Brick - This Edmonton coffee shop has been one of my favourites ever since it opened, mostly because they have an amazing patio area with tables that is great for bringing your young kids. But if you have a chance to find a table inside you can equally appreciate the post-modern decor with navy walls and white accents. My favourite coffee is their Vanilla Latte.
-
Block 1912 - If you're nestled in the University, Garneau area you need to walk down Whyte Avenue and try Block 1912! Their new renovations are breathtaking with the ceiling full of string lights, and if you're looking for some mystery sit at the large table in the front with the tiny drawer built into it, and read the many little notes people have written. My favourite coffee is their Affogato.
-
Awake Coffeehouse | This adorable coffee house in Twin Brooks is everything that is Instagram-able and delightful. The space is a combination of a coffeehouse and pharmacy, the idea of an apothecary type spaces are a growing trend these days and I am all for it. Some of the best coffee shops don't look like much on the outside and then completely surprise you on the inside! My favourite coffee is their Latte.
-
Blackbird Cafe | If you're looking in the Parkview or Laurier Heights area of Edmonton, Blackbird Cafe is right up your alley. It's a coffee and wine bar, the best of both worlds! Plus, they have live music every Friday and Saturday so be sure to check out their music ticket calendar for who is playing! My favourite coffee is their Macchiato.
I hope you find a new Edmonton coffee shop to love in your neighbourhood! This is just the tip of the iceberg with coffee shops in Edmonton, and I implore you to keep exploring Edmonton's coffee scene!
